Ralph Vaughan Williams

Please come and join us for an evening to celebrate the life of Ralph Vaughan Williams.

Keith Alldritt author of Vaughan Williams  – Composer, Radical and Patriot. The author examines how the composer was Influenced by historical changes such as the Boer War, the Blitz and the Cold War, in addition to his personal life.

Janet Tennant author of Mistress and Muse: the second Mrs Vaughan Williams will talk about her biography of Ursula, the second wife of composer Ralph Vaughan Williams. A difficult child and young woman, she was desperate to find a role in the literary world as a poet. 

There will be live music on the evening provided by Claret who play a diverse mix of roots/folk influenced music from the British Isles to Europe on a fascinating array of instruments.

The event is being held at St Editha’s Church in the centre of Tamworth with doors opening at 7:00pm for a 7:30pm start.

Family Fun Day

Family Fun 10th March

Join us for the final day of the Tamworth Literary Festival week where we will be hosting Family Fun at Tamworth Library for free drop in storytelling sessions  sessions for ages 7 and under.

There will also be creative writing for ages 3 to 8 years old
