Joss Musgrove-Knibb is the deputy editor at the Lichfield Gazette and the author of “First Lines” which is a¬†collection of previously unpublished letters, written by four Staffordshire Regiment soldiers serving on the Western Front from 1914 to 1918.

The book contains first hand accounts of the experiences of Second-Lieutenant Alfred Bull of Lichfield, Sergeant Sydney Norton of Tamworth, Sergeant James Stevenson of Stoke-on-Trent and Captain Jake Armes, who was in the front lines on the evening of December 24, 1914, and witnessed for himself the Christmas Truce.
